Adrian Underhill's musical journey is a story of transitions, transformation, and an unwavering commitment to finding his voice in the ever-evolving world of music. From his classical roots to the indie scene of Vancouver, the AC/DC tribute band in Montreal, and finally, the bustling music hub of Toronto, Adrian's path has been anything but linear.

A Classical Cellist's Unconventional Path

Adrian's musical journey commenced as a classical cellist. However, his heart was drawn to explore the vibrant and diverse world of music beyond the confines of a symphony. He embarked on a quest to find his place in the tapestry of sounds and melodies, eventually leading him to Vancouver.

Indie Beginnings in Vancouver

In Vancouver, Adrian found his first taste of a musical community as a singer and guitarist, immersing himself in the city's unique and very natural music scene. Here, he discovered the power of musical connection, performing with an indie band that thrived in the raw and untamed environment of independent music.

A Bold Move to Montreal

In an audacious move, Adrian relocated to Montreal in early adulthood. This new chapter in his life left him standing alone in an unfamiliar musical landscape. His yearning for a connection through music led him to the depths of Craigslist, where he stumbled upon an unexpected opportunity. Adrian was recruited to join an AC/DC tribute band—a far cry from his indie roots. It was a pivotal moment, marking the start of his arduous journey to the top.

Toronto and a Fresh Start

Adrian's next chapter unfolded in Toronto, a city teeming with creative potential. Once again faced with a shortage of collaborators, he embarked on a fresh songwriting adventure. He moved away from the familiar terrain of a band-driven guitar sound, and instead, delved into the uncharted waters of keyboards, synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines. This self-sufficient approach marked a turning point in his artistic evolution.

Adrian's determination and innovation paid off, leading to a flurry of creative output. His talent did not go unnoticed, and he secured a record deal with Indica Records. His debut album, "CU Again," emerged as a remarkable testament to his musical growth. It showcased his willingness to embrace change, adapt, and explore uncharted territory.

Collaboration with a Grammy-Winning Producer

Adrian's journey reached new heights with the help of Grammy-winning producer Adam Bainbridge, also known as Kindness. With a portfolio that includes working with luminaries like Robyn, Solange, and Blood Orange, Bainbridge was the perfect collaborator for Adrian's project. Together, they crafted an album that seamlessly blended innovation, storytelling, and emotion, cementing Adrian's place in the contemporary music scene.

Adrian Underhill's story is a testament to the power of embracing life's transitions and turning them into opportunities. It's a narrative that reminds us of the value in exploring different musical territories, forging connections, and ultimately, finding one's unique voice in the evolving world of music.
