As the sun set on a hot Saturday evening in San Antonio, the AT&T Center came alive with the electrifying sound of Maná, the iconic Rock en Español band that has captured the hearts of fans across the globe for decades. This was a concert that I had eagerly anticipated, having grown up with Maná's music and being deeply influenced by their passion for their Mexican heritage.

The nostalgia hit me the moment I walked into the venue since I used to play “Cama Incendiada” every day on my way to school.

After a series of classic songs such as Queens’ “Another One Bites the Dust” and Coldplays’ “Viva La Vida” to set the stage for unforgettable evening, the lights dimmed to signal the beginning of the show. The band emerged onto the stage with "Cómo Te Deseo," and the audience was immediately transported to a world where music was the universal language. The large video boards surrounding the stage displayed an array of Aztec and Mayan symbols, creating a visual tapestry that complemented the music beautifully.

Lead singer Fher Olvera, dressed in a bold black leather jacket and a bedazzled T-shirt featuring a calavera skull design, exuded rockstar charisma. The setlist flowed seamlessly, with hits like "De Pies A Cabeza" and "Corazon Espinado" prompting the audience to sing along passionately.

A touching moment occurred when a massive inflatable sea turtle descended from the rafters of the AT&T Center. Olvera took the opportunity to share the band's efforts through their Selva Negra foundation, dedicated to environmental protection and nature conservancy. The simulated ocean environment on the video boards added depth to the band's commitment to protecting sea turtles, creating a visually captivating segment of the show. Olvera even mentioned how over the past year, Mana has helped rescue nearly 1 million sea turtles.

Throughout the concert, emotions ran high as fans sang along fervently, danced, and even shed a tear or two during songs like “Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran” when the band paid tribute to Maite Rodriguez, a young victim of the 2022 Robb Elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas .

The concert reached its midway point, and Olvera took a well-deserved break while the rest of the band showcased their instrumental prowess. Drummer Alex "El Animal" González delivered an electrifying solo that left the crowd exhilarated with lighting fast and precise rhythm. Guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros also performed amazing solos that echoed through the arena.

Transitioning to the "B" stage near the back of the arena, Maná created an intimate atmosphere. Olvera invited two lucky women to join him on stage for a serenade during this acoustic set. His admiration for these women extended to all females as he encouraged everyone to never lose their happiness.

Returning to the main stage, Maná closed the night with a bang, performing hit after hit. As the concert drew to a close, the AT&T Center was illuminated not only by the bright stage lights but also by the collective glow of thousands of cell phone flashlights. In that moment, it became evident that Maná's music goes beyond entertainment; it serves as a source of inspiration and a platform for change. Their "Mexico Lindo y Querido" Tour was a testament to their enduring positive energy, a quality that defines both their music and their commitment to making the world a better place.

As I left the concert, I couldn't help but reflect on the feeling of positivity, love, and hope that was felt throughout the audience. In San Antonio, on that unforgettable September evening, Maná once again reminded us all of the power of music to unite, inspire, and change the world, one fan at a time.
