Cape Town's Rising Star: Will Linley's Musical Journey of Positivity

For some, a career in music may seem like a distant dream, but for 20-year-old musician and songwriter Will Linley, it's a dream he's been living since childhood. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Cape Town, South Africa, music has always been an integral part of his life, a constant companion in his journey.

Growing up, Will shared his passion for music with his three brothers and his mother. Their harmonious voices filled their home, creating an environment where music was not just a pastime but a way of life. Will's musical journey continued when he studied classical singing in high school, honing his vocal skills and deepening his connection with the art form.

Will's musical journey took a significant turn when he released his debut single, "MISS ME (WHEN YOU'RE GONE)," in October of 2022. This emotionally-charged song was inspired by a real-life experience, and it quickly gained traction after Will teased it on TikTok. With the help of his producers, he refined the tune, turning it into a powerful and moving piece of art.

What sets Will Linley's music apart is its ability to evoke a universal connection and uplifting positivity. He draws inspiration from the phrase commonly used amongst South Africans: "We're stronger together." Through his music, Will aims to convey the sense of unity and strength that comes from being part of a community.

At the age of 21, Will Linley released single, "Last Call," via Island Records. This youthful and nostalgic party anthem follows his debut EP, "kill all my feelings," which dropped earlier that year. Will's dynamic sound continues to evolve, captivating listeners with his infectious energy.

"Last Call" is a song that captures the essence of falling in love. It's filled with nostalgia and romance, exuding an energy that feels like the closing scene of a great movie. The global pandemic brought isolation to many, but for Will, it was an opportunity for connection. From his bedroom in Cape Town, he took social media by storm with his debut single, "miss me (when you're gone)." As the song skyrocketed, Will realized that his personal feelings resonated with a much larger audience.

Now at the age of 22, Will released “Gracie” which reflects the stage of life where one is just waiting for their soulmate.

Currently touring the US and South Africa, Will Linley is bursting with new music and ready to share his enthusiasm and laughter with the rest of the world.
